Gor Mahia’s poor run continued after they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Tusker at Wang’uru Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, further tightening the FKF Premier League (FKF-PL)title race.

Ibrahim Joshua scored the only goal in the 16th minute to hand Tusker all three points in a hard-fought encounter.

The result comes on the back of a frustrating goalless draw against Kariobangi Sharks, a match that allowed AFC Leopards to close the gap at the top to just two points, piling pressure on the league leaders.

Gor Mahia remain top of the table with 57 points from 27 matches, but missed a key opportunity to extend their advantage in the title race.

Tusker, meanwhile, climbed from 10th to 7th place with 40 points as their late-season revival continues to gather momentum.

K’Ogalo came into the fixture hoping to respond and strengthen their grip on the summit, but were undone by an early strike they could not recover from.

Historically dominant in this fixture, Gor Mahia now face increased scrutiny as the title race tightens heading into the final stretch of the campaign.

Earlier, Kenya Police FC and Mathare United shared the spoils after battling to a goalless draw in a rescheduled SportPesa League clash played at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani on Tuesday.
