National Sevens Circuit heads to Kisumu as Tusker boosts Dala Sevens

The 2026 National Sevens Circuit heads to Kisumu this weekend for the Dala Sevens, with Tusker injecting Ksh.1.5 million into the tournament as the race for the overall title gathers momentum.

The second leg of the six-round series will be held on August 1–2 at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Mamboleo, following a successful opening round at the Prinsloo Sevens in Nakuru.

Beyond the cash sponsorship, Tusker will also host the tournament's official after-parties on both days, continuing its long-standing support for Kenyan rugby and enhancing the fan experience.

Tusker Senior Brand Manager Brigid Wambua said the opening leg in Nakuru had set the tone for another exciting weekend of rugby.

“The National Sevens Circuit got off to a fantastic start in Nakuru, with the Prinsloo Sevens showcasing the quality of rugby, the passion of the fans and the vibrant atmosphere that continues to make this competition one of Kenya's premier sporting properties. The excitement and momentum generated in Nakuru have set the stage for what promises to be another thrilling stop here in Kisumu,” said Wambua.

“As Tusker, we are proud to continue supporting the circuit as it travels across the country, bringing together players, clubs and communities through rugby,” she added.

She said the sponsorship will support the organization of the tournament, contribute to the winners' prize purse and improve the overall fan experience.

The sponsorship will support the successful organization and delivery of the tournament, contribute to the winners' prize purse and enhance the overall fan experience. As with Prinsloo Sevens, Tusker will also host the official after-parties on both tournament days, giving fans an opportunity to celebrate responsibly after enjoying a weekend of top-class rugby.”

Kisumu Rugby Club Organizing Secretary Annie Wanjiru welcomed the sponsorship, saying preparations for the tournament are in the final stages.

“Preparations for the Dala Sevens are well underway, and Tusker's support is a major boost. We look forward to welcoming teams and fans to Kisumu for an exciting weekend of rugby and invite supporters from across the country to come and enjoy the Dala Sevens experience.”

The tournament returns to the same venue where KCB Rugby wrapped up the overall National Sevens Circuit title last season.

The bankers also made a perfect start to their title defence after defeating Kabras Sugar 19-12 in the Prinsloo Sevens final to claim the opening leg of the 2026 circuit.

After Kisumu, the circuit will move to Kabeberi Sevens in Nairobi (August 15–16), Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa (August 22–23), Embu Sevens (September 5–6) before concluding with the Christie Sevens in Nairobi on September 12–13.
