Turbo: Burial plans in limbo as family of woman beheaded by lover searches for head

Residents of Kaptebe, Turbo, Uasin Gishu County, held protests on Tuesday to call for justice for the family of a woman who was killed and beheaded by her lover last week.
The residents want the police to speed up investigations, and get a confession from the suspect on where the deceased - Sheila Kirwa's - head was dumped so that burial can be done as it is against customs to bury a body without a head.
The suspect, Eliud Kipchoge, is said to have stabbed Kirwa more than eight times before cutting off Kirwa's head and fleeing with it.
Locals marched to the office of Turbo deputy commissioner, demanding for action.
"The mother has left because she was killed by someone who is not her husband, she was killed by a tenant on the side," John Kirwa, the deceased's widower, said.
The couple had three children.
Lydia Chepchumba, a neighbour, said burial plans are in limbo.
" We just want the head back so that she can be laid to rest," she said.
