Tuko editor fined Ksh.50,000 for misreporting NYS case

A magistrate has jailed an editor at Tuko news for six
months or pay a fine of 50,000 shillings for allegedly misreporting and
publishing a story over the NYS story .
Magistrate Eunice Nyutu said that the sentence will serve as
a warning to other Journalists against misreporting.
The Tuko editor was summoned to appear in court today after
the prosecution told the court that it published a story that tainted the
witness.
The editor apologized to the court and told the court that
they pulled down the article.
The Magistrate insisted that publishing a defamatory story
is punishable by law.
