Tragedy as man kills wife, dies by suicide in Bomet

A 39-year-old man has reportedly killed his 27-year-old wife before taking his own life in the Kipraisi area of Konoin, Bomet County.

Konoin sub-county Police Commander Mohammed Godana said Nicholas Rotich allegedly attacked his wife, Faith Rotich, with a panga, inflicting severe injuries that led to her death due to excessive bleeding.

Mr. Godana added that after the incident, Rotich picked up a rope, walked to a nearby tree, and hanged himself. His body was later discovered by neighbours.

Police noted that the couple had long-standing domestic conflicts, which persisted despite interventions from relatives and friends.

The couple leaves behind three children, who are struggling to come to terms with the loss.

The scene was processed, and the bodies were moved to Kapkatet Hospital mortuary.
