The Kenyan Premier League title race enters a decisive phase this weekend, with high-stakes fixtures at both ends of the table set to shape the run-in.
AFC Leopards headline the weekend’s action as they host reigning champions Kenya Police, while record champions Gor Mahia welcome an in-form Bandari side.
Tusker’s recent victory over Gor Mahia has tightened the title race considerably, leaving K’Ogalo with little margin for error.
With Leopards sitting just two points off the summit and a second Mashemeji Derby still to come later this month, the battle for top spot remains finely poised.
Ingwe will view this weekend as a crucial opportunity to assert control at the top, but they face a stern test against a Kenya Police side currently enjoying a three-match unbeaten run.
Meanwhile, Bandari arrive at Gor Mahia’s doorstep unbeaten in four matches, presenting another significant hurdle for the record champions as they seek to keep pace in the title chase.
Elsewhere, attention turns to the race for a top-three finish, where Shabana FC and Kakamega Homeboyz go head-to-head, separated by just three points. Kenya Police also remain firmly in contention for the upper positions, adding further intrigue to the battle near the summit.
In the mid-table clashes, Mathare United travel to face Bidco United, with the latter fighting to avoid relegation. Mathare will be keen to return to winning ways after three consecutive matches without victory, while Bidco face the prospect of their survival hopes taking a significant hit with another defeat.
Kariobangi Sharks take on Mara Sugar in another mid-table encounter, with both sides aiming to stabilise their positions. Sharks currently sit 14th, while Mara Sugar occupy 11th place.
Tusker, buoyed by their statement win over Gor Mahia, will look to maintain momentum when they face bottom-placed Sofapaka. A positive result could see Tusker edge closer to the top five as they continue their late push.
In another closely contested fixture, Nairobi United travel to Murang'a Seal, with just a point separating the two sides. Both teams will be eager to bounce back from inconsistent form and consolidate their positions in the top half of the table.
With only a handful of matches remaining, this weekend could prove pivotal in defining the trajectory of the title race, the fight for continental places, and the battle to avoid relegation.
