Three suspects are in police custody after they were arrested for stealing 600 litres of diesel they illegally siphoned from reservoir drums belonging to Kenya Union of Savings & Credit Cooperatives (KUSCCO) Ltd.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said that KUSCCO employees John Kioko, 41 and Michael Kioko were assigned to safeguard the fuel bought from Mbagathi Way Total Petrol Station, meant for the company's generators stationed at its Upper Hill offices.

The duo then worked in cahoots with Gabriel Ngeta, 48 to instead steal the consignment worth Ksh.107,460.

"Hawkshaws from the Operation Support Unit intercepted a Mitsubishi pickup at KAA Estate adjacent to Wilson Airport, where the driver and two KUSCCO employees were arrested and the fuel seized," said DCI.

They now await to be arraigned pending processing from Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers.
