Three suspected gangsters arrested along Kangundo Road

Three suspected gangsters are in police custody following their arrest along Kangundo Road in Nairobi.

Police officers from Kayole Police Station recovered a Retay Falcon pistol from the suspects during the operation.

According to police, the incident began near Saika stage when officers on patrol spotted a motorcycle carrying a rider and two pillion passengers behaving suspiciously before speeding off into Saika Estate.

Officers pursued the motorcycle and successfully intercepted it, prompting the two pillion passengers to flee on foot through the busy neighbourhood.

During the chase, one of the suspects, 19-year-old Shem Kariuki Ondieki, allegedly dropped a Retay Falcon pistol loaded with 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

The motorcycle rider, identified as 19-year-old Emanuel Maina Kioi, was arrested at the scene.

Detectives later tracked down the third suspect, Samwel Okoth Ochieng, in Dandora Phase Four.

Police recovered a Ceska pistol magazine loaded with 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 62 assorted mobile phones, various electronic items, a Mercedes-Benz ignition key and several other items believed to be linked to criminal activities.

The suspects are currently being held at Kayole Police Station pending arraignment.
