Three people killed in accident on Kisumu-Kakamega highway

Three people died on Tuesday in a road accident along Kisumu - Kakamega highway after a lorry ferrying sugar lost control and rammed into pedestrians.
The evening accident that happened at Mamboleo junction also left two people seriously injured and were rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).
Nyanza regional Traffic boss Joseph Nganga says the two who died on the spot included a woman and two men.
Locals say the impact was so huge that the lorry landed on its back as the cabin detached itself from the main body.
They asked the government through the Kenya National Highway Authority to improve the road especially by erecting speed bumps.
