Thomas Mboya takes over as KUDHEIHA Secretary General

The Registrar of Trade Unions has formally registered Brother Thomas Mboya as the Acting General Secretary of the Kenya Union of Domestic, Hotels, Educational Institutions, Hospitals and Allied Workers (KUDHEIHA).

In a notice from the Register of Trade Unions dated September 9, 2026, Mboya has officially taken the helm to oversee the administration and leadership continuity of the union.

Prior to this appointment, Mboya served as the union's Senior Deputy General Secretary.

Mboya brings over 30 years of trade union experience to the role, having first joined KUDHEIHA in 1993.

He began his rise through the leadership ranks in 2006, when he was elected Kakamega Branch Secretary.

During his tenure in Kakamega, he contributed significantly to expanding the union's membership base and influence.

He was later elected National Treasurer in 2021 before transitioning to the Senior Deputy General Secretary position.

Following the registration, Mboya pledged to focus on stable and inclusive leadership to maintain organizational unity while prioritizing the protection and advancement of members' rights and welfare.
