Familiar songs will get a fresh sound when The Bar Symphony makes its Kenyan debut at The Alloy, Sarit Centre, on Saturday, November 7.

Presented by 360 Immersive in collaboration with Crispy Life, the event will combine live orchestral performances with a contemporary nightlife setting, offering audiences a different way to experience music they know and love.

Under the theme An Orchestral Experience Reimagined, the Nairobi edition follows an earlier event in Kampala.

According to the founders of 360 Immersive, the concept grew from a desire to break the repetition of familiar songs across entertainment venues by giving them new arrangements and an orchestral treatment.

“People are familiar with certain songs and how they traditionally sound, but we wanted to challenge that familiarity,” the founders said.

“By reengineering and rearranging these songs through orchestral music, we create an opportunity for people to hear something they already love in a completely new way.”

The organisers say the Nairobi event will bring the depth of an orchestra into a social setting, moving the performance beyond the format of a conventional concert.

The focus will be on how new arrangements can transform familiar tracks, pairing orchestral sounds with the atmosphere of a night out.

“Our first edition in Kampala was magical, and bringing The Bar Symphony to Nairobi is an exciting next step for us,” the founders said.
