Teenager arrested over murder of 3-year-old girl in Nakuru

A 17-year-old woman has been arrested over the murder of a 3-year-old girl in Nakuru.
According to the DCI, Lizz Njeri Mwangi is the prime suspect in the horrific murder of Margaret Wanjiru Kirathe.
The DCI said the incident happened about 50 meters from PCEA Shalom Mchanganyiko Church in Nakuru’s Menengai area.
The girl, who was found unconscious, was later pronounced dead upon arrival at Kenlands Hospital.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, who was arrested at Judea Village, in Kiamaina Ward, reportedly lured the little girl away from the church, and strangled her using a piece of cloth.
“Upon arrest, officers recovered the clothes the suspect wore during the commission of the offence as captured on CCTV, as well as the piece of cloth used to commit the heinous act,” police said.
