Audio By Vocalize
The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT)
and the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) from the Kisii
region have issued a directive to all teachers not to reopen schools for the
third term beginning August 26.
This is until the government implements
fully their collective bargaining agreement.
The union officials are also demanding the
reinstatement of teachers' medical cover, employment of 20,000 senior teachers,
confirmation of Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers as well as
implementation of the scheme of promotion, among other demands.
