Police in Rongo Sub County are in pursuit of a teacher who allegedly defiled his pupil at Chamgiwadu location in Rongo Sub County.

Kevin Ouma, 25, who was employed by the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) at Dago Kodero Primary School, reportedly lured the pupil to his house to allegedly help him with some house chores when he locked the door and defiled her.

Confirming the incident, South Kamagambo location chief, Erick Mala, said the school head teacher’s son heard the pupil screaming in Ouma’s house and rushed to her rescue, prompting the suspect to flee the scene.

Mala said the victim reported the incident to a distant relative because she was afraid to tell her mother.

He said the school’s head teacher has been summoned to record a statement with the police over the matter because the accused who is currently at large was his employee.

Mala has appealed to parents to be close to their children so that they can easily know some of the challenges their children undergo in good time for easy assistance.

He said most children are suffering because they have parents or guardians who are not able to offer them the attention they need.
