Taita Taveta: Body of student who drowned swimming in dam found

The body of the student who drowned in Kishenyi dam in Taita Taveta County on Saturday was found on Sunday after an hours-long underwater search.

The form-three student was heard calling for help after seemingly getting overwhelmed by the water where he had gone for a swim, eyewitnesses said.

The body was transferred to Wesu Hospital mortuary.

Meanwhile, area residents have called on the Taita Taveta County government to fence the dam to prevent future incidences.
