Swahilipot Hub gears for Pwani Innovation Week 2026

The engagement provided a platform to showcase Swahilipot Hub's decade-long journey of empowering young people through innovation, technology, the creative economy, and entrepreneurship, while unveiling plans for the 7th Edition of Pwani Innovation Week 2026.

“It is through Swahilipot that you get to experience Mombasa and its rich cultures, powered by innovation and technology,” said Principal Secretary for Science, Research and Innovation Professor Abdulrazak Shaukat.

The meeting focused on strengthening strategic partnerships, attracting investment, and fostering international collaboration to expand opportunities for youth-led innovation.

Participants affirmed commitment to supporting initiatives that position Mombasa and the Coast region as emerging hubs for technology, creativity, the blue economy, and sustainable development.

"Swahilipot reminds us that innovation is not just about technology it's about people and creating opportunities for young people to learn and grow,” noted Indonesian Ambassador to Kenya Tyas Baskoro Her Witjaksono Adji.

His Belgian counterpart Peter Maddens added, "Swahilipot Hub is proof that crazy ideas turn out to be the best ones. Never underestimate the power of Kenyan ingenuity.”

The event scheduled for October 26-30, 2026 will also mark 10 years of Swahilipot Hub's impact in Kenya's innovation ecosystem since its inception in the Kenyan coast.
