Solar energy appliances provider Sun King has expanded its PowerHub solar inverter range in Kenya, introducing new systems designed to meet the energy needs of larger homes, businesses, schools, healthcare facilities and light industrial operations.

The new products were unveiled at the Windsor Hotel in Nairobi on October 8, 2026, during an event attended by customers, business partners and government representatives.

The expanded PowerHub portfolio now covers capacities ranging from 2.2 kilowatts (kW) to 30kW, allowing customers to select systems based on their electricity requirements.

The inverters can be connected in parallel to increase their combined power output, enabling users to operate appliances and equipment such as water pumps, washing machines, microwaves and air conditioners.

The systems also allow customers to expand their installations over time by adding batteries and solar panels without replacing existing equipment.

“The latest additions to our PowerHub range take us into new territory. We can now serve homes, shops, businesses, schools, hospitals, and offices of virtually any size,” said Atta Arome, Sun King’s Product Head for Solar Inverter Systems.

“PowerHub systems are already powering offices and entire schools. This expansion is another step forward to deliver more energy across Kenya. Simply put, it is more power,” he added.

Sun King, which began operations in Kenya in 2007, said it provides solar products nationwide through a network of agents, alongside installation, warranty and after-sales services.

The company said one in five Kenyans has access to its solar solutions, while more than 330,000 of its solar products are installed monthly across Africa.

Catherine Mudachi, Sun King’s Vice President of Marketing, said the company’s services were designed to support customers throughout the transition to solar energy.

“Millions of customers across Africa know they can trust Sun King to help them make the move to solar. With quality products, professional installation, after-sales care and flexible financing all under one roof,” she said.

“As we expand PowerHub, we’re giving even more customers the confidence to access the reliable energy they need to power their homes and businesses,” she added.

The company said customers could access the new systems through flexible payment arrangements, with monthly payments starting at Sh23,600 and a small initial deposit.

Victor Agandi, Sun King’s Vice President for Pay As You Go in East and Southern Africa, said the payment model was intended to make the systems accessible to customers with different energy needs.

“Customers can access more power straight away, with flexible payments, full warranty and nationwide installation and after-sales support,” Agandi said.

“This means customers receive support from a single trusted provider throughout the lifetime of their system,” he added.

The expanded range targets customers seeking solar power systems with sufficient capacity to support larger buildings and equipment, including businesses and institutions with higher electricity demands.
