Student killed in accident, body taken to 'same classmates' funeral home

A secondary school student has died in an accident along the Kisumu-Busia highway.
The student at Bumala Anglican Church (AC) Secondary School was hit by a trailer at Rakite area.
Butula Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Jacob Chelimo said the deceased was a Form Two student.
“The student was on his way to school on a bodaboda when the accident happened,” Chelimo said.
The bodaboda operator was joining the highway when the trailer rammed onto their motorbike, killing the 17-year-old.
Police said that the bodaboda operator and another pillion passenger sustained injuries following the incident.
The injured were rushed to Lwanya Health Center in Matayos.
The body of the deceased was taken to Same Day Classmates Funeral Home in Sega, Siaya County.
