A female Form Four student from St.Alloyce Gonzaga School was on Thursday morning killed in a road accident along the Southern Bypass in Langata Sub-County.

The student was hit by a speeding lorry while being ferried to school on a motorbike.

The student perished on the spot, while the rider sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medication, and the body has been taken to Nairobi Funeral Home pending an autopsy.

Muguimoine area chief George Mukuria said the lorry, which was also ferrying construction sand heading towards Mombasa Road, rolled down the guard rail and plunged into Charles Lwanga School.

The police are currently processing the scene as they plan to tow the damaged lorry to Langata Police Station.

The locals are calling for the erection of bumps to tame the speeding vehicles along the busy Southern Bypass Highway.
