The High Court has upheld the election of Starehe MP Amos Mwago in August 2022.

In a ruling on Tuesday, March 7, the court said it is satisfied that Mwago’s election was conducted in accordance with principles of law.

Three voters; Stanely Kyalo, Peter Waihenya and Samuel Nduhiu moved to court to challenge Mwango’s election, saying that it was marred with irregularities and illegalities.

The court however notes that alleged violence could not have affected in anyway the results of the elections.

"There was procedural irregularities and errors. They were not of such magnitude such that they undermined and affected the elections results," court noted.

Mwago was elected on a Jubilee ticket.
