Stanbic Aces head coach Maurice Obilo has lauded his side’s
preparation after they cruised to a convincing away victory over Eldonets in
the weekend fixtures.
The bankers delivered a dominant performance, thrashing the
hosts 89-49 at Uasin Gishu Grounds to extend their impressive run in the Kenya
National Women’s Basketball Premier League.
Reflecting on the match, Obilo admitted his team had a slow
start, attributing it to fatigue and their late arrival, but praised their
resilience.
“We started slowly, maybe because of fatigue. We arrived a
bit late, and that could have contributed. But we pushed through and managed to
get the win, and we thank God for it,” he said.
He, however, emphasized that thorough preparation and
scouting made the difference.
“What worked for us was our preparation. We scouted them
well and came into the game fully aware of their strengths, and that is why we
performed the way we did,” he added.
The emphatic victory saw Stanbic Aces move to the top of the
standings with 11 points from six matches, having registered five wins and just
one loss as they continue to assert their dominance in the league.
