Stanbic Aces head coach Maurice Obilo is impressed by his players after their emphatic victory over UoN Dynamites in a Women’s Premier League clash played at USIU Grounds over the weekend.

The bankers cruised to a comfortable 70-41 win against Dynamites to continue their impressive form in the league.

“Slowly the team is picking up the system that we want them to play, one game at a time and I believe that if they keep themselves focused, moving forward, they are going to play even better,” said Obilo after the match.

We have been having interrupted sessions like the past two weeks, where we have been training for only 30 or 40 minutes because of rain,” he explained.

“If the rain can at least slow down and give us an opportunity to actually prepare well, I believe moving forward we will play better,” he added.

The victory moved Stanbic to 15 points after eight matches, having won seven and lost just one so far this season.

Dynamites on their part are tenth with nine points after playing seven matches, winning two and losing five.

Obilo’s charges are now three points behind league leaders Kenya Ports Authority as the race for the title continues to take shape.

At the same time, the soft-spoken tactician has already shifted focus to their next assignment against Strathmore Swords as he continues to instil his preferred structure and playing system within the team.

“This week we’re preparing and the fixture remains the same. We should be playing Strathmore, and that is what we’re going to prepare for now. We’re going to work to ensure that we are ready and prepared to face the next game.

It’s just one game at a time as we try to bring in the structures and the system that we want the girls to play,” he added.
