‘Some wounds don't just heal...’ Amira responds to Jimal Marlow's public apology

Social media personality Amira has responded to a public apology issued by her estranged husband Jimal Marlow last week.

According to Amira, the ‘poetic’ apology inscribed on Jimal’s Instagram did more harm than good to her by freshening her wounds.

She said the apology took her to a dark place because of what had happened in the past, and triggered a lot of emotions.

“That apology has taken me back to one of the darkest places I have ever been in my life because I have reflected on so much that happened in public and behind closed doors and it has triggered a lot of emotions,” Amira wrote in a social media post.

She added that she would need more time to comprehend how to deal with the situation and learn to live with what happened.

“It's heavy, I can't comprehend right now but I ask Allah to give grace. Some wounds just don't heal, you have to learn how to live with them,” she wrote.

In his apology, the businessman had admitted to airing dirty linen in public and subjecting his wife to ridicule.

“I knew you were hurting but I just couldn't get myself together! Amira, I am doing this because the disrespect was also as loud. I apologize for all the disrespect, for all the embarrassment, for all the hurt, for all the pain, for all the trauma…I am sorry for all the times I haven't been the man I promised to be,” Jimal said.

He expressed regret for the commotion that ensued after making his relationship with socialite Amber Ray public, which was followed by controversy.

“You're my wife I was supposed to protect you and never associate you with any kind of drama! I failed and I admit it…Please forgive me…Me and you come from way back and for me to put you through all that mess was distasteful.”
