Kenya rugby sevens winger Oscar Denis has been flown to Cape Town, South Africa for further treatment after he was involved in a road accident on Tuesday evening.

Denis, who plays for Kenya Cup side Nondescripts, left for Cape Town on Thursday night after spending two nights at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) confirmed his accident on Tuesday after he was involved in a road accident on his bike at the junction of Bogani Road and Quarry lane in Nairobi where he was hit by a car.

“One of the star Kenya 7s players Oscar Dennis was last evening involved in a car accident that resulted in a seriously damaged leg. He was rushed to a hospital and we’re praying for a full recovery,” the KRU said in a statement.

The 26-year-old was among the 29 Shujaa players invited by KRU to start training after undergoing the Covid-19 tests on Monday this week.

Denis played and won the World Tens Series with the SX10 franchise side in Bermuda, South Africa alongside Andrew Amonde, Collins Injera, Oscar Ouma and Willy Ambaka.

The injury will keep Oscar Dennis out of Shujaa squad preparing for the upcoming season.
