Selebwa targets Premier League promotion as new MOFA boss

Selebwa, who was officially unveiled on Thursday evening following his appointment, described the club's promotion ambitions as a dream that is within reach.

Speaking during his unveiling, the former AFC Leopards head coach said his target is to lead MOFA into the Kenya Premier League for the 2027/28 season.

"It would be a great pleasure to see Michael Olunga's project succeed. I want this team, backed by one of Kenya's greatest footballers, Michael Olunga, to earn promotion and compete in the 2027/28 Kenya Premier League season," said Selebwa.

Widely regarded across East Africa as a promotion specialist, Selebwa has built a reputation for guiding clubs from the National Super League to the top flight. He believes that track record played a key role in his appointment and is confident MOFA can become the fourth club he leads to promotion.

"I am here because my record speaks for itself. This will not be the first team I have guided from the National Super League to the Premier League. I hope MOFA will become the fourth after AFC Leopards, Shabana FC and Mombasa United," he said.

The experienced tactician also praised MOFA's professional set-up, describing the club's organisation and infrastructure as major assets in its pursuit of promotion.

"The organisation here is outstanding. The club has the facilities to recruit talented young players, a well-structured communication department, an accessible training ground and, importantly, financial stability. Those are advantages many clubs do not have, and they give us every opportunity to run the team smoothly throughout the season," he added.
