Promotion specialist Gilbert Selebwa believes MOFA FC have what it takes to secure promotion to the FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) next season after taking charge of the National Super League side.
The former AFC Leopards coach, who previously guided Shabana FC and Mombasa United to top-flight promotion, says he has been brought in to achieve what has eluded the Homa Bay-based club over the last two seasons.
“I think they were able to sit down and reach an agreement. After listening to their goals, it became clear that I needed to come and help push them—along with others—so that we can achieve the goal of playing in the Premier League next season,” said Selebwa.
The experienced tactician officially met his new players and technical bench for the first time on Monday as preparations for the new season got underway at Ringa Secondary School.
Selebwa says there will be no time to waste as he looks to instill his philosophy from day one.
“Well, on matters contract signing we finished a few days ago, and now today is the first day I'll be able to meet with the players in the afternoon so that we can get to know each other,” he added.
MOFA FC finished fifth in last season's National Super League with 64 points, 17 behind champions Migori Youth FC, missing out on promotion to the FKF Premier League.
