Search underway after crocodile kills two people in Athi River, Makueni

Two people were killed by a crocodile in Makueni County after an attack at Athi River on Tuesday, authorities said.
The incident occurred at Nzeveni area in Kwa Letu location, Yekanga sub-location, within Mavindini Ward.
Reports indicate that a 35-year-old woman was attacked on Monday evening as she attempted to cross the river.
A 20-year-old man who was nearby and tried to rescue her was also attacked and killed.
Makueni County disaster response officials and the Kenya Red Cross are expected to begin a search operation for the two bodies on Tuesday.
