The two smartphones, priced from Ksh.23,300, feature upgraded cameras, long-lasting batteries and enhanced security, as Samsung seeks to make advanced smartphone technology accessible to more Kenyan consumers.
The Galaxy A18 LTE, which retails at Ksh.32,000 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, designed to deliver smoother scrolling and improved viewing experiences.
The device also comes with a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP sensor, alongside a 5,000mAh battery supporting 25W fast charging.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy A08 LTE, priced at Ksh.23,300 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, features a 6.7-inch HD+ display, a 50MP main camera and a larger 6,000mAh battery.
Both smartphones incorporate Samsung's AI-powered Circle to Search feature, allowing users to search for information, identify products, translate content and discover music directly from their screens.
The devices also support AI assistants, including Google's Gemini and Perplexity, enabling users to perform tasks and access information through voice commands and other interactions.
On security, Samsung has equipped both models with Knox Vault, a hardware-based protection system designed to safeguard sensitive information, including passwords and biometric data.
The company has also committed to providing six generations of operating system upgrades and six years of security updates for both devices, extending their usability.
Both smartphones carry an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance and support expandable storage of up to 2TB through microSD cards.
Samsung further announced that additional configurations will be introduced later in the year, including an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version of the Galaxy A18 LTE priced at Ksh.51,600, and a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version of the Galaxy A08 LTE retailing at Ksh.33,100.
The launch strengthens Samsung's Galaxy A Series offering in Kenya, with the company positioning the devices as affordable alternatives for consumers seeking AI-enabled smartphones without moving into the premium segment.
