Samsung has expanded access to Care+, a service plan that allows owners of eligible Galaxy smartphones in East Africa to repair accidentally damaged screens at a subsidised fee through the company's authorised service network.

In Kenya, the plan brings a screen repair on an entry-level Galaxy A series phone down to Ksh.3,139, while flagship S series owners will pay Ksh.7,847. Owners of the premium Z series will pay Ksh.15,693.

By comparison, an out-of-warranty screen replacement on an A or S series device can cost between Ksh.15,000 and upwards of Ksh.30,000 on the open market in Kenya, making the plan a significant saving for customers who register on time.

Care+ runs alongside Samsung's standard 24-month warranty but covers a different kind of problem. While the warranty handles manufacturer defects free of charge for two years from purchase, Care+ is designed for accidental damage from everyday handling, which a standard warranty does not cover.

The plan runs for 12 months from the date the device is activated, and customers must register within 30 days to qualify. Each plan covers one qualifying screen repair, carried out by trained technicians using genuine Samsung parts.

Care+ is available only on select genuine Samsung smartphones sold with a 24-month warranty. Grey-import devices are not eligible.

Newly launched Fold and Flip models are also not yet covered locally, as they are not officially ranged in these markets with an applicable 24-month warranty.

Customers can sign up online through samsungcareplus.com by entering their device's IMEI or serial number.

Owners of newer phones running One UI 9, including the Galaxy S26 FE, A08, A18, Fold8 and Flip8 series, can also register directly on the device by navigating to Settings, then Warranty & Care.

For repairs or support, customers are directed to Samsung's authorised service centre network. In Kenya, Samsung's customer care line is 0800 545 545.
