Sameer names new Managing Director

The board of Sameer Africa Plc has named John Mugo as its new Managing Director effective from January 1, 2023.

Mugo is set to take over ranks from Peter Gitonga who retires from the company on December 31.

He joins Sameer from real estate investment firm Heri Plc where he has been serving as its Chief Operating Officer since April last year.

Previously, Mugo served as the Chief Operating Officer at investment firm TransCentury Plc and has held different senior roles at Tanelec Limited, East African Cables and Bamburi Cement.

Mugo commenced his career as a Senior Consultant at PwC.

He holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accounts of Kenya (ICPAK).
