Ruto, Uhuru, Kalonzo and other leaders mourn Martha Karua's father

Mwalimu Karua died on Sunday at his home in Kirinyaga County. 

In his condolence message, President Ruto stated that Mwalimu Karua had devoted his life to teaching and service, leaving an impact on many lives.

"We join Martha, the Karua family, relatives and friends in mourning this loss and honouring a life of service. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time," Ruto condoled. 

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has also sent his condolences to Karua's family, stating that Mwalimu Karua was a man defined by principled leadership, dedication to education, strong character and deep love for his family.

He promised his continued prayer and support for the family.

Wiper Patriotic Front Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka also sent his condolences to the Karuas’ family and friends.

Kalonzo comforted Martha, saying she has always been a strong lady and should have the same bravery during this difficult time.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has also sent his condolences, describing the late Mwalimu Karua as "pivotal in shaping the lives he touched as a teacher and in raising a great patriot in Martha Karua and your siblings, whose contribution to our post-independence Kenya remains strong in the years to come."

Former Chief Justice David Maraga has also described Mwalimu Karua as Martha’s role model.

Maraga has said the values and character instilled by Mwalimu Karua are now evident in Martha's courage and integrity throughout her public life.

He has also prayed for God to comfort the family through this painful moment.
