Ruto nominates ex-NTSA boss Francis Meja as Public Service Commission Chair

Francis Meja currently serves as a PSC member following his appointment last year, besides holding senior executive and leadership positions in the past.

President William Ruto has nominated former National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) Director General Francis Meja for appointment as the new Chairperson of the Public Service Commission.

Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, in a communique released on Wednesday, noted that Meja currently serves as a member of the commission following his appointment last year, besides holding senior executive and leadership positions in the past.

Meja previously served as Council Member of the Murang’a University of Technology, Registrar of Motor Vehicles in the Ministry of Transport.

The Masters of Business Administration (MBA) holder from the University of Nairobi also has a lengthy public sector background that includes over 15 years in the banking and financial services worlds.

According to Koskei, the nominee served in various management roles at Equity Bank Kenya PLC as well as the Housing Finance Company of Kenya (KFCK).

“In discharge of the constitutional imperatives on State appointments, His Excellency the President has transmitted the nomination to the National Assembly for consideration and approval by Parliament,” stated Koskei in the communique.
