The sponsorship will support the organisation of the annual charity run, which seeks to raise funds and awareness for vulnerable senior citizens in underserved communities in Kakamega and Isiolo counties.
Speaking during the partnership announcement, Fly748.com Head of Scheduled Services George Oduor said the airline's support is aimed at promoting the welfare and dignity of older persons through community partnerships.
"Our senior citizens have played an important role in shaping our society and deserve to age with dignity, care and support. We are pleased to support Mama Ibado Charity in this initiative and encourage Kenyans to participate in Run 4 Seniors," Oduor said.
The annual event has become a platform for mobilising resources to support older persons while highlighting challenges such as poverty, neglect and social isolation affecting many senior citizens.
Mama Ibado Charity Director Amb. Dr. Amina Mohamed welcomed the sponsorship, saying it would strengthen the charity's efforts to expand support programmes for vulnerable seniors.
She noted that proceeds from the event will fund the charity's Seniors Feeding and Healthcare Programmes, which provide monthly food assistance, access to healthcare services, medication and community-based care.
As part of the partnership, Fly748.com will also promote the event through its communication platforms to encourage wider public participation. The airline will offer a 10 per cent discount on flight tickets to participants who register for the Run 4 Seniors event.
