Gachagua was at the university for a briefing on the ground rules for the deputy presidential candidates' debate.
Gachagua is the running mate of Deputy President William Ruto who is the Kenya Kwanza flagbearer.
He will be debating alongside three other candidates; Martha Karua of the Azimio coalition party, Justina Wamae of the Roots Party and Ruth Mutua of the Agano Party.
The Presidential Debates Secretariat on Friday announced that Citizen TV's Trevor Ombija, KTN's Sophia Wanuna, NTV's James Smart, TV47's Linda Alela and KBC's John Jacob Kioria will host the Deputy Presidential debate.
The debate will be conducted in two tiers; the first one is for those with less than 5% approval ratings and the second one for those with 5% and above.
Preparations for the debate have since been concluded.
