Relief for Machakos Governor Ndeti as all 26 chief officer nominees approved

The Machakos
County Assembly has unanimously approved all the 26 Chief Officers nominated by Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
The approval came after an
extensive vetting exercise during a special sitting on Friday chaired by Speaker Ann Kiusya, which now sets the stage for the county government to roll out its development programmes.
“Pursuant to the provisions of
Section 45 of the County Governments Act, 2012, Sections 4 and 9 of the Public
Appointments (County Assemblies Approval) Act, 2017 and Standing Order
190(5)(f), the Machakos County Assembly has this afternoon approved the
appointment of the following 26 persons as Chief Officers to various County
Departments,” read a statement by the Assembly.
Here is the list of the 26
nominees.

3. Charles Kyalo Mutinda-
ECDE & Vocational Training
4. Ngumbau Mutiso Benedict-

Inspectorate, Fire Fighting and Emergency Services
6. Simba Simon Mwako-
Education
7. Mercy Ndululu Mutua-
Office of the Governor
8. Metho Benson Kituku-

Governor Ndeti has since issued a gazette notice
appointing the said persons to their respective positions following their
approval by the county assembly.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by
Article 235(1)(b) of the Constitution as read together with Section 45(1)(a)
and (b) of the County Government Act 2012 and upon approval by the Machakos
County Assembly in its sitting on January 6, 2023, I do appoint the following
to be chief officers in the County Government of Machakos…,” read the notice.
