Relief for KPA as court orders their 7 bank accounts be re-opened

Through lawyer Cecil Miller, KPA told the court that operations at the port had been paralysed since it could not access the said funds to run the port.

He argued that the orders barring them from accessing the accounts were issued before they could respond to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) case as required by the law.

In court papers, KPA argued that the figure demanded by KRA is not clear, adding that it has been computed in a very unclear way.

Miller submitted that if the orders lifting the freezing orders are not granted, the operations at the port will be paralysed, affecting the movement of goods both locally and regionally, and therefore paralyzing business globally.
