Raila, Karua condole with families Tharaka Nithi bus crash

In a statement, Raila and Karua sent their condolences to those who lost family, friends, and loved ones in the tragic incident.

They sent their wishes to those fighting for their lives in hospital, even as they hailed the medical personnel attending to them. 

"This is a difficult moment for these families and our campaign prays for them to get comfort and fortitude," reads part of the statement.

Raila and Karua further appealed to motorists to exercise caution and observe the highway code while on the road.

This comes as the death toll from the bus accident at Nithi River in Tharaka Nithi County hit 33 on Monday morning.

Tharaka Nithi County Commissioner Nobert Komora said this is after more bodies were retrieved from the wreckage.

Meanwhile,the injured are undergoing treatment at Chogoria Mission Hospital and Chuka Referral Hospital.
