Internal Security Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has urged Kenyans to follow President William Ruto’s lead in promoting national cohesion and moving away from tribal-based politics.

Speaking during the burial ceremony of the mother of Nyando MP Jared Okello in Kisumu, the PS highlighted a range of development projects being implemented by the current administration, noting that they are being distributed equitably across the country regardless of political affiliation.

“We are talking of projects in excess of Ksh.220 billion in Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay and Migori. For the first time, we are seeing that kind of investment. It speaks to the leadership of President Ruto, and he is very deliberate about it. It is a story that you will get in North Eastern, at the Coast, in Central and every other place," he said.

"But most importantly, the issue of cohesion, the issue of unity. We have a President who is not just developing the region he comes from, and who is not just giving opportunities to people from his region.”

Omollo said the government will continue with the uniform distribution of projects in line with the President’s approach to inclusive development.

"We have hired 100,000 teachers and another 20,000 are set to be hired. If we were to do it the way it used to be done in previous administrations, it might have taken us up to 20 years to achieve what we have achieved in three years," he said.

He also urged Kenyans to embrace dialogue when dissatisfied with government decisions, saying constructive engagement would help achieve win-win solutions without destabilising the economy.
