Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration Raymond Omollo presided over the groundbreaking ceremony, alongside the installation of a new Assistant County Commissioner to oversee the newly established administrative unit.
Omollo said the establishment of the divisional headquarters was part of the Government’s efforts to operationalise new administrative units, expand its presence at the grassroots and improve responsiveness to the needs of local communities.
The new office is expected to enhance coordination of government services, strengthen local security administration and bring essential public services closer to residents.
The initiative is also intended to improve the management of public affairs at the community level by strengthening the National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs) network.
The event was attended by Western Region Regional Commissioner Allan Machari, Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula and Woman Representative Elsie Muhanda.
Also present was Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka, alongside MPs Fredrick Ikana (Shinyalu), Titus Khamala (Lurambi), Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), David Ndakwa (Malava) and Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani).
