PS Oluga champions simulation-based learning in Ghana visit

The PS, accompanied by Ambassador Shem Amadi, made the visit on the sidelines of the African Union Extraordinary Session.

He was received by the Centre's Director, Dr. Christian Owoo.

A vocal advocate for technology-enabled training, Dr. Oluga examined how simulation-based learning is reshaping both pre-service and in-service education.

The approach standardises clinical practice, strengthens patient safety and ensures healthcare workers prove their competence before treating patients in real clinical settings.

The tour builds on the Kenya–Ghana Memorandum of Understanding, which seeks to strengthen collaboration in digitising health workforce regulation.

Among its priorities is the use of technology to track competencies, professional licensure and continuous professional development, while advancing South–South cooperation to build resilient health systems across the continent.

The engagement underlines a shared commitment between Kenya and Ghana to harness innovation, digital technologies and strategic partnerships in building a skilled health workforce and stronger, sovereign health systems for Africa.
