In a statement, the panel urged victims who have not yet filed their claims to do so before the deadline, saying all submissions will undergo a thorough verification process.
The panel, chaired by Prof. Makau Mutua, assured claimants that they would be informed of the decisions on their applications, urging them to remain patient as the process continues.
It said the compensation programme covers different categories of harm, including fatalities, injuries, sexual violence, economic losses and other recognised violations.
The panel added that it was making progress in processing claims and compensating eligible victims, while committing to provide periodic updates on the programme.
It also said it would continue engaging victims and beneficiaries directly to address their concerns, clarify the status of claims and ensure they are treated fairly and with dignity.
The panel reiterated its commitment to ensuring that no eligible victim is excluded from the compensation programme.
The statement comes as the panel recently revealed that 1,083 protest victims had received compensation in phases amounting to Ksh.1.014 billion.
Prof. Mutua assured the public that each claim underwent verification, authentication and categorisation before any payment decision was made.
"The Panel reiterates that the compensation program is fundamentally victim-centered. It is intended to acknowledge the harm victims have suffered, restore dignity, and provide tangible administrative redress as part of Kenya's broader journey toward national healing and reconciliation," Prof. Mutua stated on September 15, 2026.
Formed in 2025, President William Ruto tasked the panel to verify, categorize, and oversee reparations for victims of human rights violations and protests occurring between 2013 and 2025.
