Probe as 6-year-old boy dies in a house fire in Kakamega

Police officers are investigating an incident in which a 6-year-old boy died after a fire broke out at their home in Bukura village, Lurambi Constituency, Kakamega County.

According to residents, led by Peter Lime, it is alleged that the boy's mother, who is a trader at Bukura market, had locked him in his room, as she went about her duties.

She would later be informed that a fire erupted in the house and caused her son’s death.

The victim's body has been taken to the Kakamega County Referral Hospital mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted.
