Probe as 28-year-old man found murdered in Kirinyaga

Police in Kirinyaga County are investigating the murder of a 28-year-old man whose body was found near River Kiwe in Mukithi village, Ndia constituency.

According to residents led by Daniel Waweru the deceased, identified as Joseph Nguru Munyao, was a boda boda rider operating at Kiaga Trading Centre in Kirinyaga Central.

His motorcycle was discovered at the scene where his body was found.

"We wonder why Munyao was killed and the motive behind his killing,” Waweu said.  

Acting Chief of Kanyekiine Location Edward Njega stated that the deceased hailed from Kiaga village.

He was killed at the border area between Kiwe River, Ndia and Kirinyaga Central constituencies.

"At first, we thought it was a case of suicide. Police have launched investigations, and we are awaiting the post-mortem report," Njega said.
