Probe as 18-year-old woman killed, body dumped in Siaya

Police in Siaya County have launched a probe into the murder of an 18-year-old woman whose body was discovered in a bush by the roadside in Achage Village, Nyandiwa Sub-location.

According to a police report, the body was found Sunday evening by two men, who then alerted the village elder, who in turn informed the authorities.

Officers from Siaya Police Station visited the scene, processed it, and later moved the body to the Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary.

The deceased was identified as Christine Achieng, a bartender who was living and working in Usenge, Bondo Sub-county.

Her sister confirmed her identity after being notified by a resident who recognized the victim.

Police said the body appeared freshly deceased, with visible blood stains on the chest.

Although she was fully clothed, her undergarments had been removed and placed beside her body, raising suspicions of possible sexual assault.

No arrests have been made so far, and investigations are underway to determine the motive and those responsible for the killing.
