President William Ruto is set to address the Parliament of Tanzania on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in a high-level engagement aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.

In a communication from the office of Tanzania's Speaker of Parliament, members were formally notified of the upcoming address, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

“The Clerk of Parliament announces that on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, the President of Kenya William Ruto will address the Tanzanian Parliament from 11 a.m.,” stated the speaker.

The speaker described the address as a significant and historic occasion, expected to be attended by top national leaders.

“This important and historic event, which will also be attended by top national leaders, aims to strengthen the relationship and brotherhood between the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Kenya,” the statement added.

Members of Parliament have been urged to attend the sitting without fail to listen to the address by the visiting Head of State.

"Honourable Members of Parliament, you are all urged to attend without fail on this important day to listen to the visiting Head of State address Parliament and the nation at large,” the Speaker.

The visit underscores ongoing efforts by Nairobi and Dodoma to deepen regional cooperation within the East African bloc.
