President Ruto boasts of successful performance after 4 years in office

Exactly four years since assuming office, President William Ruto now says his administration has fulfilled a majority of the promises it made, fending off accusations of economic mismanagement and corruption.

The president, who spoke during a church service in Kisumu County, on the first day of his five day tour of Nyanza region, also celebrated Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, whose legacy he said continues to shape the country.

In presenting a self-appraisal score card, the president started off with deliverables he said his administration has accomplished in four years.

“I stand before you saying what we had agreed on, most of them God has been gracious,” he said.

During the church service in Kisumu, the Head of State reflected back at the past four years since his inauguration in September 2022.

“I can say without fear of any contradiction that God has been faithful to our nation and we have made progress,” President Ruto added.

Listing projects he termed a game-changer, and impactful, the President picked on healthcare reforms he instituted, and how seamless it has proven.

“…And today, every facility in the republic of Kenya, health center, dispensary, level three, level four, level five and level six are receiving money from SHA every month, different from wat it was under NHIF,” Mr. Ruto added.

This comeing a month before the first anniversary of Odinga's passing on, the President showered praise on the former Prime Minister who he described quintessential statesman, a nationalist who he further emphasized cared for the country.

“In honour of my late brother Raila Odinga, I will make it my responsibility that his legacy, his party and what he believed in lives in as we work together to build a nation called Kenya, he said.

President Ruto assured the broad-based government of continuity in Odinga’s absence

“We will walk together as ODM and UDA. They are not competitors, they are partners in the broad-based government,” he said.

The president later chaired a grassroots’ leaders meeting in Kisumu, and later a rally as begins a development tour of the region from Monday, a tour scheduled to end on Thursday.
