A section of politicians allied to the broad-based government have once again hit out at former President Uhuru Kenyatta, accusing him of using his position to advance plans to destabilise Kenya Kwanza ahead of the 2027 polls.
The team, led by Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale and other senior government officers, says they are ready to face the opposition at the ballot, insisting President William Ruto is assured of a second term owing to his track record.
In Turbo, Uasin Gishu County, Duale hit out at the former Head of State, saying he knew why Uhuru was uncomfortable with the current regime.
“Mimi najua kitu inasumbua Rais ni kidogo sana, ni wivu
tu... na ni rafiki yangu unajua nimefanya kazi naye... anaona huyu kijana
amepiga kazi miaka tatu yake, akiona na miaka kumi yake, ya housing alishindwa
huyu kijana miaka tatu amefanya...” Duale said.
President Ruto's Aide Farouk Kibet added, "Viongozi wakiona maono ya kuzika ukabila, Kenya itaweza kwenda mbele, na wakabila watashindwa.”
In Kuresoi South, a group of Kenya Kwanza politicians led by Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi told off the former Head of State, saying he is supposed to play an elder’s role in retirement.
“Nataka kukuambia wewe tafuta sera... wacha kila siku ukilala Kasongo, ukiamka Kasongo... nataka kuambia Wamunyoro pia hakuna mtu ameongoza Kenya hii miaka tano, ata kura isipojaa tutajaza, yes tutajaza... na hao wananchi...” Sudi stated.

The Kenya Kwanza leaders told off the opposition, saying they are ready for the 2027 contest.
“Yule mkabila ambaye alikuwa anaongea maneno ya shares nilihakikisha kuwa tumemfukuza nyumbani na hawezi kuwa ata chairman wa cattle dip," said Senate Majority Leader, Aaron Cheruiyot.
In Busia County, where other leaders graced an empowerment programme for the youth, Western Kenya leaders also took a swipe at the former Head of State, saying they are ready for Ruto’s second term.
“Siasa ni kuwa na msimamo, vile tulisimama na Raila kwa hivyo sahii tutakufa na Ruto kwa hii term ambayo imebaki...” Busia Governor Paul Otuoma noted.

“There is no way someone will tell you that you need to go out and come negotiate for power... hatuwezi ruhusu viongozi kutupotosha, kututoa mbali na serikali," said Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo.
On Saturday, the team is expected in various parts of the
country to defend the regime’s scorecard.
