Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 CAVB Women’s African Club Championship with an impressive 3–1 victory over Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in an all-Kenyan quarter-final clash staged in Cairo on Sunday.

The encounter, dubbed the “Nairobi Derby,” lived up to expectations, but it was KPC who ultimately stamped their authority with a composed and tactically superior performance.

The Oilers set the tone early, showcasing disciplined defence and well-coordinated attacking play to claim the opening set. Their serving pressure consistently unsettled DCI’s reception line, allowing KPC to dictate the tempo of the match.

The second set was particularly one-sided, as KPC surged to a commanding 25–12 win, underlining their dominance with clinical finishing and strong net play.

DCI, however, showed resilience in the third set. Adjusting their approach, they tightened their defence and capitalized on a few unforced errors from KPC to take the set 25–21, briefly halting the Oilers’ momentum and raising hopes of a comeback.

Despite this setback, KPC quickly regrouped, reasserting control in the fourth set with renewed focus and precision.

Their balanced attack and solid blocking proved too much for DCI, as they comfortably sealed the match with a 25–16 victory.

In the other quarter-final involving Kenyan sides, KCB delivered a dominant performance to secure their semi-final spot with a straight-sets win over Cameroon’s Mayo Kani Evolution (MKE).

KCB controlled proceedings throughout, winning 25–15, 25–18, 25–21 in a match that highlighted their consistency and depth.

The stage is now set for an exciting all-Kenyan semi-final between KPC and KCB on Tuesday, 21 April 2026 at 5:00 PM EAT. The clash promises high intensity, as both teams vie for a place in the final.
