The match, played at Nyayo Indoor Arena, ended with set scores of 25-19, 25-9, and 25-21 in favour of Postbank, who displayed superior attacking variety and defensive solidity throughout.
Young Spykers team manager Peter Ngigi acknowledged the areas that need urgent improvement.
“Our major problem was our middle blocking which we will now go and practice more. There was also a slight problem with our attacking which we will also go practice more in training,” Ngigi said.
Postbank team manager Thomas Moek was pleased with the result, especially as his side continue to lead the standings.
“We had to win this match, we are currently top of the table… but the game was good, our team played well so we are proud of them,” Moek said.
In the day’s other women’s fixture, Nairobi Prisons were awarded maximum points after Kenyatta University failed to turn up for their scheduled match.
The results keep the league highly competitive, with Postbank reinforcing their position at the top while other teams continue to fight for crucial points as the season progresses.
