The 9th floor of Transnational House in Nairobi’s Central Business District was cordoned off by police officers on Sunday afternoon.

Security personnel said they intercepted the movement of two servers to an undisclosed location.

Police reports indicate that a security officer attached to the DP’s office was allegedly intercepted at the scene, and upon interrogation, he claimed he was called in to supervise the transfer of sensitive materials as the office was undergoing renovations.

Trans National House used to host DP William Ruto’s private office before he assumed office in 2013.

Teams from DCI cybercrime and scenes of crime officers have been dispatched to conduct forensic investigations on the two servers.

“We got a tip off and we came to investigate because we found the information about moving servers quite sensitive,” Nairobi deputy Regional Police boss James Mugera said.

The area has been sealed as a crime scene as investigations continue. details remain scanty of the investigations, this coming barely two weeks to the General Election.

The servers are said to belong to Lanstar technology technologies and intellect group dealing with provision of core banking system to saccos and mobile banking

“It is not a crime to move servers just that we have to do our investigations first,” Mugera added
